Teaching philosophy

My classroom philosophy is that students will develop a conceptual understanding of mathematics; solve rigorous problems quickly and effectively. I seek to ensure that lessons challenge the brightest student, encourage the struggling student, while stimulating all students.

My role as classroom teacher is to create an environment where hard work is the norm and is expected.

My personal goal as an educator is to ensure that not only are students academically prepared to be successful in college but also have the character and personal fortitude to be successful in life.

For more information on my work in the Fellows Program, please see my report on Homework Assistance and Conceptual Understanding in Pre-Calculus.
